Are marriages really made in heaven?

Marriages in India are losing their value due to the widespread misuse of 498 A. There are cases wherein there was no dowry or torture, but the daughter -in-law has ruined the lives of her husband, his parents and even his relatives ....IS THIS WHAT WE SAY JUSTICE .....

OVER THE years, technology, political and economical conditions in India have undergone major transformation. Even the institution of marriage is not isolated from this and has recently been seen to have become an extortion racket. If we talk about marriages, there is a famous saying “Marriages are made in heaven”, but with the rampant misuse of 498 A, here is what happens to some Indian marriages:


Marriage starts with a beautiful ceremony as if the marriage was really made in heaven and we shower flowers on the bride and groom as if God was himself blessing them and praying for their wonderful future together. Groom takes his “Grihalaxmi” for Honeymoon while all relatives and friends wish them and pray for their well being. On coming back, she goes back to her parents and files a 498 A case against her father–in-law, mother-in-law, brother –in-law, sister-in-law and husband. They all get trapped in a 498 A case for years and are labelled as accused. They are considered “guilty until proven innocent”. They lose their health, mental strength and financial support (jobs). On losing all hope for a good life and future, some of them go in serious mental depression, while some others commit suicide. Some are still left to tolerate the harsh realities and undergo torture.

For those who find it hard to believe, I must say that what I have written is a fact and not just a story and there are cases wherein there was no dowry taken or ever demanded or even tortured and the daughter–in-law never stayed with her parents–in–law and has ruined the lives of her husband, his parents and even his siblings.She tries to be good in the eyes of other people and files false cases...is this what we call a law in INDIA.

How long will women take advantage of this 498a law and use us and file false cases ...there need to be some justice we need to fight and the world need to know the main culprit and cant simply believe in what the women says ......

Well recently in Rajya Sabha there has been a debate to make this law gender biased so that equal rights need to be given to Men also. So lets hope for the best and fight for this misuse of this 498a law.
