Lenovo has introduced a new 8GB IdeaPAd A1 Android tablet at an amazingly less price of $199 only.
HP had recently brought down its tablet price to $99 creating a frenzy among consumers and indicating a potential market for low-priced tablets. Lenovo by its latest price offer intends to arouse attention in the already packed tablet market.
The tablet has a 1024-by-600 pixel resolution with a 7 inch display. The tablet runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and comes with a single-core 1-GHz Cortex A8 processor. It features a 3-megapixel camera on the back, .3-megapixel camera on the front, a GPS receiver and 2GB internal storage. The tablet further includes a microSD card slot for adding up to 32GB of extra memory. It is 0.47 inches thick and weighs around 0.88 pounds.
The tablet also supports GPS which works irrespective of an internet connection, WiFi and Bluetooth. It also has varied colour modes like black, white, pink and blue and comes with a magnesium alloy case. The device also features a widget that you can place in the center of your home screen for quicker access to frequently used applications.
The company has made some changes to its earlier specifications to keep the price low. IdeapadA1 does not have the same processor, screen resolution, or other specs as the IdeaPad K1. The smaller tablet incorporates Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of Android 3.2 Honeycomb.
Apart from the 8Gb model, Lenovo would also be releasing a 16GB model which is priced at $249 and 32GB priced at $299.
The 8GB IdeaPAd A1 is expected to arrive in the markets by late September
